As January unfolds, we gather under the approaching Full Wolf Moon on Monday to dance our way into the heart of winter. Our January 11th Sweat Your Prayers™ class invites us to embrace the primal wisdom and pack mentality of the wolf—moving together in community while honoring our individual spirits. Like wolves who howl to strengthen their bonds and mark their presence, we'll use movement to express our authentic voices and connect with our dance community. The Wolf Moon reminds us of the deep interconnection between nature's rhythms and our internal cycles, calling us to stand in our power and dance in unity with others. This sacred gathering offers a space to embody the wolf's intuitive nature—keen, aware, and deeply connected to both earth and sky. Through the 5Rhythms practice, we'll explore the delicate balance between solitude and togetherness, between our wild nature and our gentle hearts, finding strength in our shared experience on the dance floor. Sweat Your Prayers™ Sweat Your Prayers™ is not just a dance practice; it's a sacred journey into the depths of our souls, guided by the wisdom of movement and the power of intention. Created by 5Rhythms founder Gabrielle Roth, this transformative practice invites us to explore the divine within ourselves and the world around us. In Sweat Your Prayers™, we merge our bodies with the music, surrendering to the rhythm of our breath and the beat of our hearts. Through this embodied prayer, we awaken our senses, release stagnant energy, and embrace the fullness of our being. This practice is open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or experience level. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, you'll find a welcoming and inclusive space to explore and express yourself authentically. There are no steps to follow, no right or wrong way to move; simply let your body lead the way and trust in the wisdom of your own movement. Guided by Sylvie Minot's gentle presence, we'll dance in silence, allowing the music to speak to our souls and guide us on our liberating journey of self-discovery. Reserve Your Place To ensure your spot, we encourage you to register in advance, as space is limited. Join us in the heart of Point Richmond, at Hidden City Ballroom, for a morning of movement, connection, and celebration. We look forward to dancing with you. In gratitude, Sylvie and the SDP Team PS. No dance experience is necessary. All are welcome to join us on this journey of self-discovery and celebration. We want you to feel comfortable and reassured that this space is for everyone. STAY FOR OUR SOUND WAVES BENEFIT EVENTAfter our morning of dance, we invite you to remain in Point Richmond for our annual New Year's Sound Waves benefit event from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm, supporting Syzygy Dance Project. This peaceful afternoon offers a perfect complement to our morning practice—a chance to receive and rest as healing sounds wash over you. Immerse yourself in an intimate sound healing experience where ancient instruments from diverse traditions—Peruvian ceremonial tools, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, Native American flutes, drums, and rain sticks—create a tapestry of resonant vibrations around your resting body. This practice, honored across cultures for thousands of years, promotes deep relaxation, meditation, renewed energy, and heart-opening awareness. Your participation supports Syzygy Dance Project's vital movement programs throughout the Bay Area. As space is limited and this event traditionally sells out early, we encourage you to secure your spot in advance as this event sells out before the day. Make it a day of dancing your prayers in the morning and letting the healing sounds carry you in the afternoon.
