This Sunday, June 30th, is the San Francisco Pride March, a powerful celebration of love, diversity, and the enduring spirit of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride is more than a parade; it's a heartfelt reminder of the importance of standing together, embracing our true selves, and honoring the journey toward equality for all. As we dance through life, we are reminded of the strength of our differences in beauty and unity. In the spirit of inclusivity, we are excited to share an opportunity to deepen our connection to ourselves and our communities. This October, Sylvie is offering her yearly Outreach Facilitator Training. This transformative experience is designed to equip participants with the tools to bring the healing power of movement to diverse populations, particularly those who have a difficult time moving in their bodies. Throughout the training, Sylvie will guide participants in developing class themes, exercises, and music selections that can be adapted to various populations. Participants will gain embodied tools to support deeper connections within groups, learning to use their bodies and voices to create a safe and inviting space. By the end of this training, participants expand their resources for leading group movement classes and undergo a deeper understanding of how to create an effective container for transformative experiences. It's an opportunity to grow as a facilitator and make a meaningful impact through the power of movement. We are also very excited to announce a collaboration with Sapana Doshi, PhD, and Kamla Sufi to offer bi-monthly BIPOC dances every 1st and 3rd Saturday starting in July. Sapana has been holding monthly BIPOC dances since February 2023. We are grateful to join her in creating a safe space for BIPOC dancers. Sapana leads on Saturday, July 6, and Sylvie on July 20 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Payment is accepted at the door at Interplay Studio, 2273 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, California. For more information, please get in touch with us at [email protected]. As we celebrate Pride this Sunday, let us be reminded to continue to dance, learn, and grow together, embracing the diversity that makes our community vibrant and strong. With love, rhythm, and a commitment to diversity and community, Sylvie and the SDP Team In every heart, a rainbow glows; in every soul, a love that grows.
