![]() March begins on Saturday and carries with it the whispers of change. Winter here in the San Francisco bay area is starting to loosen its grip, yet its signs still linger in the cold nights and morning dew. The days stretch longer now as the earth stirs beneath the dirt; we see the early bulbs pushing tentatively upward, reminding us the spring is coming. This threshold moment—neither winter nor spring—mirrors dancing: the space between stillness and movement, between what was and what becomes. As we approach the month of the equinox, we honor this in-between space, the quiet signal of transformation already underway. In uncertain times, our movement practice becomes both an anchor and a release. Dancing through transition invites us to trust the unfolding, to lean into the rhythm of change rather than resist it. Even when we don’t know what’s ahead, our bodies know how to keep going—one step, one breath, one beat at a time. As author Alan Watts once said, “The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” So we move, not to force certainty, but to embrace the mystery. We dance because the seasons turn, because life flows forward, and because in every moment—especially the uncertain ones—there is still music waiting to be heard and danced to.
