As we step into June and celebrate Pride Month, we're reminded of the powerful symbolism of the rainbow, a naturally occurring phenomenon that speaks to hope, peace, and beautiful coexistence. Rainbows invite us to go beyond what we know, connecting us to our dreams and imagination. Peninsula 5Rhythms Takes Off We had a beautiful launch this past Sunday as we began our Peninsula 5Rhythms with our first Sweat Your Prayers class in Redwood City. The energy was palpable, and the response from our new dancers was overwhelmingly positive. The dancers brought such sweetness to the floor, and we created something special together. The incredible ballroom facility offers us abundant space to let our bodies speak, move, and find their rhythm. You can find out when I am teaching Peninsula 5Rhythms Sweat Your prayers classes at www.meditate.dance. This Pride Month, as we honor the courage of those who paved the way for authentic expression and love in all its forms, let's remember that our dance floor is a sacred space where every part of ourselves is welcome. In the rhythm of Flowing, the pulse of Staccato, the wildness of Chaos, the grace of Lyrical, and the peace of Stillness, we find room for our whole selves. Merge and Emerge for BIPOC In continuing to honor all voices and experiences in our movement community, on Saturday, June 7th, join Sapana Doshi for Merge and Emerge for BIPOC, offering decolonized movement meditation with curated soundscapes for all people of color to expand our presence, joy and connection—more information, visit www.freedom-dance-collective.com. Come dance with us. Celebrate the rainbow within. In gratitude, Sylvie and the SDP Team Rainbows remind us that even after the darkest clouds and the fiercest winds, there is still beauty.
