![]() In September, we move with the fire of transformation. Dedicated to Vulcan, the Roman god of fire, this month invites us to embody the heat and intensity that can melt away the old and forge something new. In our 5Rhythms practice, we often tap into this elemental power—letting the rhythm of fire burn through resistance, igniting our passion and fueling our purpose. As we dance, we offer our prayers through movement, stoking the heat of our solar plexus. We allow each step to be a spark, each gesture a flame, as we invite the heat from within to renew us. The solar plexus chakra, also known as the Manipura chakra, which governs the fire element inside, is especially important when we dance with the fire element. It is the seat of strength, vitality, and inner power. Through movement, we connect with this chakra, drawing on its energy to fuel our stamina and willpower. In the heat of the dance, we awaken the fire at the core of our being, letting it move us into transformation. As we dance, we build resilience, fortify our inner flame, and emerge revitalized, stronger, and more alive. Solar Fire As we embrace the fiery energy of September, let us remember that transformation is not always comfortable, but it is powerful. Dancing with fire teaches us to move through discomfort, to burn away what no longer serves us, and to emerge renewed. In our dance practice, we don't just dance with the idea of fire—we become the fire itself, a living, breathing embodiment of power. As we step into our daily lives, we carry our inner flame with us, letting it guide us through challenges and light the way to our highest potential. Let the fire of September be a catalyst for personal growth, creativity, and the courage to forge new paths in our lives in preparation for the coming winter's darkness.
