​PRIVACY
Protecting your private information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy applies to SyzygyDanceProject.org and Syzygy Dance Project and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to Syzygy Dance Project include SyzygyDanceProject.org, Sylvie Minot, and SDP. The SDP website is a non-profit donation and information site. By using the SDP website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
If you make a donation through the SDP website, we collect billing and credit card information. This information is used to complete the donation transaction. SDP may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.

If you make a donation to SDP by letter, phone, or in person, information about that transaction will also be collected. If you contact SDP by email, letter, phone, or in person, that information about the communication will also be collected.

COLLECTION OF ANONYMOUS INFORMATION
Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by Syzygy Dance Project (SDP) when you visit our website or interact with our electronic newsletters. This information may include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This data is used to help operate and improve our services, maintain website functionality, and compile general statistics on website usage.

This information is collected anonymously and is not linked to your personal identity. You may have the ability to limit or opt out of certain types of data collection through your browser settings, cookie preferences, or newsletter settings.​

LINKS AND EMBEDDED CONTENT
The SDP website may include links to other sites (e.g., Wix, Square, PayPal, WISE, Zelle, 5Rhythms, Open Floor, Freedom Dance Collective, Meditate.dance, Life Center Stage, MailChimp, Google Maps) or embedded content, such as SDP videos hosted on YouTube. Once you leave the SDP website, SDP does not control the privacy policies of your destination sites. SDP encourages you to review the privacy statements of the websites you choose to visit from SDP, so that you can understand how those websites collect, use, and share your information. SDP is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the SDP website.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
SDP collects and uses your personal information to operate its website and deliver the services you have requested.

SDP may also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other upcoming SDP events. SDP may also contact you via surveys to gather your opinions on current classes or potential new classes.

SDP will never share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties for marketing purposes without your consent.

SDP may track the websites and pages our users visit on SyzygyDanceProject.org to determine which SDP information is most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content, improve website functionality, and refine classes with SDP for donors whose behavior indicates interest in a particular area.

If you wish for us to remove your email address and any personal information from our donor database, please email info@syzygydanceproject.org with your request. If you do, your information will be removed as soon as is reasonably practical or as required by applicable law. Please note that we may retain information that is otherwise deleted in an anonymous and aggregated form, in archived or backup copies as required pursuant to records retention obligations, or otherwise as required by law.

SDP will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served to SDP or on the website; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of SDP; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of donors of SDP, or the public.

DATA HYGIENE
From time to time, we may screen our database against recognized data hygiene files, such as the National Change of Address file, and cleanse or correct inaccurate data. We may also update inaccurate data if the information is available.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Depending on your settings or the privacy policies for social media and messaging services like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, or BlueSky, you may give us permission to access information from those accounts or services.

USE OF COOKIES
The SDP website may use "cookies" to help personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file placed on your hard disk by a web server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. COPPA COMPLIANCE
Because SDP values your privacy, we have taken the necessary precautions to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not disclose your personal information to any third parties without your consent.

CHILDREN UNDER AGE 13
SDP does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under 13, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use the SDP website. If you believe your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately, and we will make every effort to remove it from our records promptly.

JURISDICTION AND VENUE
All users, including those who access websites from a country other than the U.S., agree by virtue of their use that the laws of the State of California shall govern any disputes, including any arising from or in connection with use of the sites and any arising from SDP's use of personal information or otherwise relating to privacy and that any claim made against the SDP can only be brought in a federal or state court in Marin County, California.

SDP will occasionally update this User Agreement to reflect feedback from the company and patrons. SDP encourages you to periodically review this Statement to stay informed about how SDP protects your information. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the SDP website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you on this web page when it is updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

HEALTH DISCLAIMER
Participation in physical exercise, in all its forms, involves inherent risks and can be strenuous. You are strongly encouraged to consult with your physician before beginning any class, workshop, or movement practice. SDP is not a medical organization, and its facilitators are not authorized to provide medical advice or diagnosis. Nothing shared in or through these classes or workshops should be interpreted as such.

Please be aware that attending an in-person class or workshop carries a risk of exposure to contagious illnesses, including but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, and other common viruses.

By participating in any SDP class or workshop, you voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries, or damages—known or unknown—that may result from your participation. You expressly waive and release any and all claims for injury or illness of any kind against SDP and any individuals or entities associated with SDP, including but not limited to its directors, facilitators, volunteers, independent contractors, and representatives.

We may terminate the privileges of any user who engages in copyright infringement in connection with his or her use of SDP services.

REFUND POLICIES
For additional refund rights, please refer to the relevant policy from Syzygy Dance Project or the event provider from whom you made the purchase. If you purchased your event participation from Sylvie Minot or Syzygy Dance Project, please see our refund policy page here. If you purchased your participation from someone other than Syzygy Dance Project or Sylvie Minot, the event provider’s refund policy will apply. You’ll need to contact the third-party provider to request a refund.
