Who We Serve
Our Impact
Syzygy Dance Project (SDP) is a 501 (c) (3) organization that transforms lives through movement and dance. We provide movement classes to underserved populations in the San Francisco Bay Area grappling with serious life challenges, e.g., addiction, incarceration, homelessness, aging, PTSD, and other chronic health issues.
The SDP approach provides a way to navigate challenging physical and emotional experiences through dance and music, serving as a guide. Over the past 14 years, we've offered thousands of classes for more than 7,500 people.
We currently offer ongoing classes for veterans, healthcare workers, individuals with chronic illnesses, and the elderly.
Our participants find freedom, unity, connection, healing, joy, and/or release through dance, which can profoundly impact their lives. We’ve seen, time and again, the physical and mental health benefits of our work, and we also witness how it can bridge communities. Our work in facilitating self-care and fostering connection between people from different communities is deeply needed, especially at this moment in time.
We hope you will consider showing your support by offering a donation.
