What is the Movement Teachers Consultation Group?
Syzygy Dance Project Facilitators
The consultation group is designed for a maximum of six participants, specifically tailored for movement teachers across various dance modalities. Space is dedicated to addressing questions, inquiries, and sharing case examples within the group.
Participants are encouraged to bring forward inquiries related to individual sessions, classes, and workshops. Sylvie Minot will leverage her extensive background in training facilitators, providing mentorship, and drawing from over twenty years of teaching experience across diverse populations to guide the discussions that surface.
Together, as a group, you will tap into the collective wisdom and experiences that each participant brings with them.

- Find ways of communicating with difficult participants.
- Find ease with resistance.
- Explore methods of weaving movement into other modalities.
- Balance the use of words and dance.
- Use of music to affect process.
Group Prerequisites
- Have at least 5 years of movement practice of some kind.
- Have experience in facilitating groups or private sessions.
- Is a movement teacher of any style or in in-depth training.
This consultation group experience is not suitable for individuals who:
- Solely pursue an interest in DJ'ing.
- Are contemplating teaching movement and are uncertain if it's the right fit for them.
- Merely seek a platform for venting without a constructive focus.
Movement Teachers Consultant
Consultant – Sylvie Minot
Sylvie Minot is the executive director and founder of Syzygy Dance Project. Since 2000, Sylvie has taught weekly 5Rhythms dance classes and workshops in the Bay Area, New York, throughout the US, and Mexico. Sylvie has worked with a variety of populations including inmates, veterans, at-risk youth, recovering addicts, hospital patients, and the general public.
Sylvie Minot received her BA in Dance from San Jose State University and a Master's Degree in Theology in Spirituality and Holistic Health. She is a certified 5Rhythms® Teacher trained by 5Rhythms founder Gabrielle Roth and a Heartbeat teacher. Sylvie has studied psychology, indigenous healing rituals, energy medicine, and sound healing. The teachings of cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien, author Caroline Myss, and Peruvian sound healer Tito La Rosa inspire her.
Sylvie is often described as a catalytic shape-shifter because of her ability to meet people right where they are and move with them into new possibilities.

Payment in full is required to confirm your spot. Because attendance is limited to a small group of 6, once payment is received and your spot is reserved, SDP is unable to offer refunds.
