MEDICINE CIRCLE - MEXICO
2024 DATES TBD
Join Sylvie and Wendy in Malinalco, Mexico in 2024 for a very special Medicine Circle, surrounded by the lush beauty and ancient mystique of this secluded valley!
Medicine Circle is a profound fusion of movement, sound healing, ceremony, community, and reverence for the land, and will unfold amidst the enchanting landscapes of Malinalco, Mexico, a place steeped in myth and mysticism. In Aztec mythology, the goddess Malinalxochitl once chose Malinalco as her home, and the people of the village hold a reputation as sorcerers. Nestled in a relatively isolated valley, Malinalco is surrounded by mountains adorned with a prehispanic pyramid, adding to the aura of ancient wisdom and magic that permeates the area.
Crafted by 5Rhythms instructor Sylvie Minot 16 years ago, Medicine Circle interweaves potent lineages—Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms Movement, Angeles Arrien’s best-selling book The Four-Fold Way, and the healing sounds of Peruvian sound healer Tito LaRosa.
Within the Medicine Circle, we dance, embracing dances of all forms—big and small, quiet and loud, joyful and serene, cathartic and tranquil. We harness the power of sound—drums, rattles, bells, rain sticks, and song—to beckon the Spirit forth. We offer prayers, for ourselves, for others, and for the collective well-being. We invoke our ancestors, guides, and the spirits of the land, honoring the past while forging new pathways toward healing.
Dancing together in this sacred way is our medicine.

“Sylvie is an instrument of sound and dance, facilitating a sacred space for the co-creation of healing. The music is an essential part of medicine circle. Whilst we are moving together, we are also making the rhythms to which we are dancing. There is the earth mothers heart beating, in the grounding pulse of the drums, the breathing winds of the flutes, the bone penetrating rhythms of the rattle, and the angelic chorus of our voices. Throughout time and space, our ancestors have come together to heal, grieve, and pray in this way. As a musician and a healer, I have never known a space like medicine circle where these ancient ways are honored and continued with such integrity and creativity.“ |
