How to Attend an SDP Class Via Zoom
The following guidelines below will help you get ready for your Syzygy Dance Project online class.
24 Hours Before Class Starts:
1. Install Zoom on the Device you will Use to Attend Class.

2. Test your Zoom Connection.
Zoom offers a "mock" test meeting where you can confirm that your Zoom installation is successful, test your internet connection, microphone, and camera as needed for a Zoom event--
1. Install Zoom on the Device you will Use to Attend Class.
To Install Zoom on Your Computer--
- Download the Zoom Client for Meetings app from from the Zoom Download Center at the Zoom Download page: https://zoom.us/download. Note the location on your computer where the ZoomInstaller.exe file (e.g. desktop, downloads, etc.) is being saved.
- Once the download is complete, locate the ZoomInstaller.exe file and double click on it. Follow the installation prompts.
- Once Zoom is installed, you will need to setup a free Zoom account, which can be set up via the Zoom website at https://zoom.us/signup.

To Install Zoom on Your Mobile Device--
- Install the Zoom app click on one of these linked locations: Apple iOS Mobile Devices | Android Mobile Devices
- Follow the prompts for installing the Zoom app on your mobile device.
- Once the Zoom app is installed, you will need to setup a free Zoom account, which can be set up via the Zoom website at https://zoom.us/signup.

2. Test your Zoom Connection.

- Go to: https://zoom.us/test
- Click on the [join] button.
- Click on [Open Zoom Meetings] or [Launch Meeting].
- A "connecting" message will appear before a window with your image will appear. You have the choice to either {Join with Video] or [Join without Video]. Click on the [Join with Video] button.

Wireless Connection--
If you are experiencing delays, a frozen screen, poor quality audio, or getting disconnected from Zoom while using a WiFi connection, try the following:
- Check your Internet bandwidth using an online speed test, such as Speedtest @ https://www.speedtest.net. A good download speed for most households is 10 Mbps per person and a good upload speed to shoot for is 5 Mbps.
- Try to connect your device directly to your router via WiFi cable.
- Try bringing your computer or mobile device closer to your WiFi router.
- Check how many users are currently active on your WiFi network. Is someone playing online games or downloading?
