The Lantern Festival is on Saturday, February 24, the first full moon of the lunar new year. Chinese traditions celebrate this day because it marks the departure of winter and the beginning of the spring season. On this special day, people light lanterns to symbolize driving out darkness and bringing hope to the coming year. In Lightning the Lanterns, people wish for good fortune and love. It is also a prayer for the ancestors, bringing them peace in the other realm. The sky becomes lit full of lanterns with people's wishes, streams, and prayers. If it is different from your tradition to light a lantern, with this full moon, let's light a candle to carve out the night and bring light to the shadows. Until we dance together. With love, Sylvie and the SDP Team Red lanterns shine in the sky Comments are closed.
