 March begins on Saturday and carries with it the whispers of change. Winter here in the San Francisco bay area is starting to loosen its grip, yet its signs still linger in the cold nights and morning dew.  The last Supermoon of 2024 is illuminating the night sky--we can feel its stunning brightness so close we can almost touch it.  As I write this, I'm preparing to leave the San Francisco Bay Area for a teaching journey through Europe this November. I am excited to be leading transformative workshops in three beautiful countries.  As I prepare to leave for a brief vacation in Hawaii to celebrate my birthday, I am excited to be in the powerful presence of Pele, whose home is believed to be Halemaumau crater at the summit of Kilauea as she watches over the island.  Last Sunday, on the day of the auspicious full Buck moon, we received the news that many of us are supporting a woman of color for president. It is incredible that this could be possible in my lifetime.  “The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.” ― Deng Ming-Dao  This Sunday, June 30th, is the San Francisco Pride March, a powerful celebration of love, diversity, and the enduring spirit of the LGBTQ+ community.  As Father's Day draws near, it's a time that allows us to honor and appreciate the fathers and father figures who have shaped us and acknowledge the positive essence they embody. |
