It is said that Koi fish embodies the powerful life force of perseverance. Known to swim against the current and overcome significant obstacles, they are a profound symbol of determination and tenacity, reminding us that, like the koi, we can navigate troubling times with an unwavering spirit. On Saturday, October 21, 2023, I will facilitate Coming Home: A Movement Workshop for People of Asian and Pacific Island Ancestry with Sapana Doshi & Sarwang Parikh. This workshop offers movement and dance medicine to heal from violence against, within, and across our diverse communities. As people of Asian and Pacific Island ancestry in the U.S., our bodies are often subject to ideas and forces constraining our full authentic expression and solidarities with other people of color. Coming Home offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and move through the wounds of coloniality to celebrate the fullness of who we are. We will connect to the wisdom of our bodies and ancestors to support us in coming home to ourselves on our own terms, in joyful communion, and in the right relation to all beings. We invite you to join us on this transformative journey of self-discovery and healing at the workshop. Let's come together this Saturday on October 21, 2023, and embark on a path of resilience and unity.
