We invite you to join Sylvie Minot on Wednesday June 10, 2020, as she explores loving through staccato. Wednesday classes are currently being held on Zoom from 7:30 - 9 pm PST. From dancing with “being” last week, this class will move into “loving”—an expression of your truest self. What does it mean to be loving, and how do you express it? I find that to be loving, I need to listen deeply. When you listen with presence, you open, stretch, and empty your heart, only then do you love without conditions. Come dance your heart open and embody your loving essence. In this moment, we need the healing balm of love for ourselves and each other. I am determined to practice deep listening. I am determined to practice loving speech.― Thich Nhat Hanh, True Love: A Practice for Awakening the Heart With love, Sylvie and the SDP Team PS. Beginners are always welcome! This Event Has Ended If you choose the monthly recurring gift option of $75.00 or more, as a giving member, you can attend the weekly Wednesday night classes (online or in-person) for FREE. ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S 5RHYTHMS CLASSThe 5Rhythms is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in everybody regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the practice itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression.
The primary teaching of this work is: If you put your psyche in motion, it will heal itself. The five rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. They come together to create a wave. There are no dance steps to follow. Each rhythm has a different energy and tempo in which we tap into the wisdom of our bodies, bring awareness to the patterns in ourselves and our lives, and find our own individual expression. In Sylvie Minot’s weekly online class, you will be led on a journey of self-discovery as we come together in community. The class is made up of two waves. The first wave is your time to arrive, let go of your day and settle into your body. During the second wave, we dance more deeply and explore a specific theme. Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required. About Sylvie Minot Sylvie Minot received her BA in Dance from San Jose State University and is a certified 5Rhythms® Teacher who was also trained in the Heartbeat (emotional) map by Gabrielle Roth.
