I love the aura of the upcoming fall season with the shifting of the light and nature's intense colors.
Even though I live in California, where we don't experience the beautiful color of places with four distinct seasons, I still feel the transition of energy that fall brings.
Autumn is my favorite time of the year because everything seems crisper, the vibration a little more intense, and the veil between our world and the outer world grows thin. I have accumulated more awareness of the energetic map of the 5Rhythms, which is why I do the ancestors work.
I come from a long line of warriors and healers. My ancestors were warrior-healers, and they knew how to both heal and fight.
My grandmothers carried themselves in a way where you understood to never test them. My mother's mother was Vietnamese, and my mother's father was French and a soldier. My mother had the hands of a healer and the heart of a warrior. My father was the youngest General in the Royal Lao Army, and his mother was a force to be reckoned with. His father had the sweetest soul and a healer too.
My generational history inspired me to bring dance to veterans for their healing and mine. I carry a lot of warrior-soldier spirit inside my body and my psyche. When I move with this energy, I begin to discover, release, and gain compassion for all warriors in life and war. I tap into my own healer in this healing, and I am called to be of service to others.
My personal ancestral inheritance propelled me to create the Ancestors series.
I feel that we need now more than ever to heal the wars in our minds, bodies, psyche, and lands. This healing needs to be multi-generational from a time beyond when we were not so divided and separated by the land's boundaries.
Join me in a movement exploration to connect with our ancestors' wisdom and struggles and restore balance in our lives.

ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S 5RHYTHMS ANCESTORS CLASS
In Sylvie Minot’s virtual 6-week virtual 5Rhythms Ancestors series via Zoom, you will explore your often unconscious family/ancestral patterns with ways to shift and release them.
Through dance, movement, voice/sound, and guided group exercises, the class will use each of 5Rhythm founder Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms—flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness—to honor our past and create new pathways for healing.
5Rhythms Ancestors is accessible to anyone interested in transformation through meditative movement and offers an opportunity to tap into the generations of wisdom that live deep within.
You can purchase the series at a discounted per class rate or join a single class during the 6-week series. For those patrons who participate in the SDP monthly membership program, you can participate for free.
Classes feature DJ music that is facilitated by the teacher, Sylvie Minot. There are no dance steps to follow, but you are guided in breath and movement through the different musical choices. Each rhythm has its own energy and tempo in which you tap into the wisdom of your body, bring awareness to the patterns in yourself and your life, and find your individual expression. No two classes are the same.
Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required.
Please note -- for the virtual 5Rhythms Ancestors series, you don't have to connect via video--you can choose to call in or join by audio-only and listen to the class through a headset.
