Memorial Day is a day in America when we remember those who sacrificed in service to their nation and those we loved who are no longer with us.
Even though it is the official kick-off to summer in Northern California, there is a somber feeling about the weekend.
We can't help but remember those who are no longer in this physical realm with us.
In our 5Rhythms movement practice we come together in community as a safe space to express our emotions through music and dance (however you like to define your dance). To us, moving together serves as a cathartic release, allowing us to process and move through emotions that may be challenging to articulate.
When we are experiencing times of missing those we've loved and lost, in our own days of memorial somberness, we are reminded to breathe, put on a little music, and move. Feel the tears waiting to be noticed, say hi, and set that rain dance free to the beat of the rhythms.
And find solace in your own movement experience.
In memory of many, in memory of all.
