Día de Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead, is celebrated from November 1 to November 2. Dia De Los Muertos is a two day festivity joining together the living with those who have passed.
How appropriate it is that the Syzygy Dance Project Ancestors series 5Rhythms classes featured Ancestors work during this time of the year?
We too welcome the souls of the ancestors.
With Día de Los Muertos, the dead are a part of the community, awakened from their eternal sleep to share in the festivities with loved ones.
These past five weeks, Syzygy Dance Project's Wednesday evening 5Rhythm series has honored each other's lineage and tribes. This week, we go back further to discover your animal clan. I invite you to pay attention to the animals that have touched you throughout your life--the ones you connect with and bring you comfort, mystery, and joy.
They have much to teach as kindred spirits of nature and the elements during this time when the veil between our world and the other side are thin.
In this Wednesday's moving meditation class, as we dance, we'll invite in the four-legged, the water beings, desert beings, and feathered friends to join us in celebration.

PS. No dance experience is needed. Beginners are always welcome. Come join us! You can register for the entire series or single classes.

ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S ANCESTORS CLASS
Sylvie Minot's Ancestors classes explore your often unconscious family/ancestral patterns and offers a way to shift and release them.
Through dance, movement, voice/sound, and guided group exercises, Sylvie uses each of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms—flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness—to honor your past and create new pathways for healing.
5Rhythms is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the dance itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression.
Classes feature DJ music that is facilitated by the 5Rhythms teacher, Sylvie Minot. There are no dance steps to follow, but you are guided in breath and movement through the different musical choices. Each rhythm has its own energy and tempo in which you tap into the wisdom of your body, bring awareness to the patterns in yourself and your life, and find your individual expression. No two classes are the same.
Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required.
