Tribes are described as a group of people tied together by kinship relations, and they have a strong connection with the place where they live.
They are usually separated from mainstream society. Members of a tribe may not know about their ancestral history, but they are united by and share beliefs, traditions, or symbolic bonds.
One of my favorite teachers is Angeles Arrien, Ph.D., a leading expert on native spirituality and shamanism. She wrote several best-selling books, including The Four-Fold Way, which delves into the four archetypal principles of the Native American medicine wheel and how they can lead people to a higher spirituality and a better world.
Indigenous peoples believe that our ancestors literally stand behind us to support us in our life dream and purpose
the Whether you are participating in my weekly Ancestors series classes or not, I invite you to look up your lineage and see what your ancestors' tribes are called.
Look for the tribes indigenous to your heritage.
There are many tribes of Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas. See what the tribe names that stand out and resonate with you. Trust your sense of intuition.
Learning more about our tribes reconnects you to your roots and awakens you to a sense of belonging.
In this week's moving meditation 5Rhythms class, participants will go back further into their lineage and call in their Ancestors' tribes. I'd love for you to join this class and experience what happens as you connect with your ancestral tribe to bring forward the good, true and beautiful.

ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S ANCESTORS CLASS
Sylvie Minot's Ancestors classes explore your often unconscious family/ancestral patterns and offers a way to shift and release them.
Through dance, movement, voice/sound, and guided group exercises, Sylvie uses each of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms—flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness—to honor your past and create new pathways for healing.
5Rhythms is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the dance itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression.
Classes feature DJ music that is facilitated by the 5Rhythms teacher, Sylvie Minot. There are no dance steps to follow, but you are guided in breath and movement through the different musical choices. Each rhythm has its own energy and tempo in which you tap into the wisdom of your body, bring awareness to the patterns in yourself and your life, and find your individual expression. No two classes are the same.
Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required.
