Join us as we take inspiration from April's pink supermoon, the biggest and brightest full moon of 2020, which encourages surrender and letting go. Let’s dance with this moon is in Libra, the zodiac sign of balance and partnerships, letting the beams shine through us. I love this quote by the Astro Twins, "With this full moon shining its balancing beams into a world that feels completely out of order, can we restore equilibrium to the planet?" It’s been 21 days since California entered into its shelter in place, as I find my emotions swinging everywhere in a moments time, from anxiety to fear to hope to anger to sadness to courage to gratitude to compassion to love, and all over again. You may be noticing these dramatic fluctuations yourself. Our minds are trying to understand and process what is happening in our world, and our spiritual practice is being sorely tested. We invite you to bring all of it onto Wednesday's dance and let it move through us. We will use our dance to practice and cultivate sending energetic connection across space and time. Wednesday, April 8th, is also the start of Passover here in America and how auspicious is that? It has been said that it is a “Liberation from our constraints. Passover is the time that gives power for the whole year for us to "leap over" our limitations: temporal, physical, and spiritual." With love, Sylvie and the SDP Team PS. Beginners are always welcome! This Event Has EndedIf you choose the monthly recurring gift option of $75.00 or more, as a giving member, you can attend the weekly Wednesday night classes (online or in-person) for FREE. ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S 5RHYTHMS CLASS5Rhythms is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in everybody regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the practice itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression. The primary teaching of this work is: If you put your psyche in motion, it will heal itself. The five rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. They come together to create a wave. There are no dance steps to follow. Each rhythm has a different energy and tempo in which we tap into the wisdom of our bodies, bring awareness to the patterns in ourselves and our lives, and find our own individual expression. In Sylvie Minot’s weekly virtual 5Rhythms class, you will be led on a journey of self-discovery as we come together in community. The class is made up of two waves. The first wave is your time to arrive, let go of your day and settle into your body. During the second wave, we dance more deeply and explore a specific theme. Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required. About Sylvie Minot Sylvie Minot received her BA in Dance from San Jose State University and is a certified 5Rhythms® Teacher who was also trained in the Heartbeat (emotional) map by Gabrielle Roth. Sylvie has studied psychology, indigenous healing rituals, energy medicine, and sound healing and is inspired by the teachings of Angeles Arrien, Carolyn Myss, and Tito La Rosa. Since 2000, Sylvie has taught weekly dance classes and workshops for a variety of populations. Sylvie is often described as a catalytic shape-shifter because of her ability to meet people right where they are and move with them into new possibilities.
