![]() This past week, a few unexpected moments manifested themselves and I was forced to quickly change direction. It was Dr. Wayne Dyer who once said, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Truer words have rarely been spoken. I am reminded that disruptive change happen to all of us (those of you who attended last Wednesday’s 5Rhythms Sweat Your Prayers class saw this firsthand at the beginning). In these moments, it is essential to pause, take a deep breath, and expand our awareness of the current situation. Awareness opens the heart and mind to explore more options and change our perspective. This Wednesday, I will lead another Sweat Your Prayers 5Rhythms practice with no words--only prayer. Sweat Your Prayers® is a gathering where we bring our individual 5Rhythms® practice and move through the rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness with intention and in community. “To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self. Sweat is holy water, prayer beads, pearls of liquid that release your past. Sweat is an ancient and universal form of self-healing, whether done in the gym, the sauna, or the sweat lodge. I do it on the dance floor. The more you dance, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy.” -5Rhythms founder, Gabrielle Roth, Sweat Your Prayers Let’s move together by surrendering to the music, honoring change with our breath, and dance into a space of energetic awareness. With love, Sylvie and the SDP Team PS. No dance experience needed. Beginners are always welcome. Come join us! You can choose to listen to the class via audio only instead of video--it's another beautiful way to experience this Wednesday class. The Wednesday evening class begins at 7:30 PM PST and ends at 9:00 PM PST. The Zoom the waiting room will open at 7:20 PM PST. Please connect early enough to get situated before class begins. The class offers the following schedule:

ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S SWEAT YOUR PRAYERS CLASS![]() Sweat Your Prayers® is A 5Rhythms® movement meditation practice where you move through all the five rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness with breath and intention. This class is self-guided where there is no verbal movement instruction. 5Rhythms is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the dance itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression. The primary teaching of this work is: If you put your psyche in motion, it will heal itself. The five rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. They come together to create a wave. Classes feature DJ music that is facilitated by the teacher, Sylvie Minot. There are no dance steps to follow, but you are guided in breath and movement by your own awareness of what your body, mind and soul needs. Each rhythm has its own energy and tempo in which you tap into the wisdom of your body, bringing awareness to the patterns in yourself and your life, and find your individual expression. Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required. Please note -- for the virtual ZOOM class, you don't have to connect via video--you can choose to call in or join by audio only and listen to the class through a headset. Some dancers enjoy going for a walk outdoors while they move to the music.
