Dreams offer the opportunity to seek guidance from our ancestors and spirit guides through the permeable veil between the dream world and our conscious reality. Lucid dreams become more vivid when the moon is brightest, opening the veil for communication from the other side with our subconscious mind. Early human civilizations considered dreaming a form of communication from the Gods. In modern times, it wasn't until Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud published his book, "The Interpretation of Dreams," that dreams began to be widely studied apart from the indigenous cultures' values, beliefs, and traditions. Oneirology is the scientific study of how and why we dream. But the scientists who study dreams admit that our dream interpretations often reveal as much as the scientific research. Do you take the time to connect with your dreams and use them as a portal for healing and renewal? Working with your dreams is an effective way to connect with the truth of your emotions and recognize a way forward. I recently discovered the poem "Moon Dance" by Tanzelle Oberholster perfectly describing the remarkable journey into the dream world. Moon Dance How would you know if I danced by the light of the full moon, when the time is twelve hours passed the noon The ritual has but begun and to be complete, each night hereafter shall see it repeat Few would understand the magic at work, and fewer still would appreciate the beauty that unfurls by this midnight drumbeat To and fro the energy will flow, guided by the tidal moon glow No-one would know if I danced with others unseen, until I have awakened from this dream - Dr. Tanzelle Oberholster is a former Molecular Biologist with a specialization in Genetics, Biotechnology, and Microbiology. On her website aRt-Verse.com, she shares her personal musings, art, and poetry. Would you like to attend a workshop that connects the dream world with shamanic movement? Visit the Syzygy Dance Project Public Classes and Events page for the current dates and more information. With love, Sylvie and the SDP Team Working with Dreams and Shamanic Movement Sylvie Minot is excited to announce the date for her day-long Shamanic Journey workshop connecting the dream world, journeying, dancing, and writing. In this class, she will invite you to explore the world of dreams and angels and the magic it contains. Diving into the Shamanic Journey with the symbols of your dreams will bring you into the world of allies, guides, and power animals. Combining the two realms with the expression of your body through movement will allow you to tap deeper into the mystical world. The workshop will begin with movement, inviting a specific dream that you would like to work with into your dance. You will then journey with the images of the dream. Coming out of the journey, you will bring it into your dance once again. You will write after the dance. The second part will be dancing to each participant's dreams and journeys. This workshop is a ceremony to invite in the subconscious and spirit world. It will consist of a ritual to offer our gratitude and blessing. Space is limited; please register early.
