When you dance, your body's movements can take you beyond merely dancing in a specific way to completely letting your body go to that place where a shift of your perspective evolves into a new expressive form. A paradigm shift is a meaningful transformation that appears when the usual way of doing or being is replaced by a new and different way. When I seek to shift my consciousness, I need to see everything from all angles—to surrender and choose from my heart and soul. Then I must take the necessary steps to move into this new essence. This week, I want to explore paradigm shifts. How do you shift from one perception to another? When you are in the moment, you can shift your way of being in the world. Breakthroughs come when you break away from old ways of doing. If you find yourself being too caught up in all that is swirling about in the world and need to shift to a new way of being, I invite you to move with the help of the planets, mother earth, her animals, and plants, and join in movement flow with nature. As you explore shifting from one perception to another, start by noticing the patterns that hold you in place. Are they familiar movements, thoughts, or emotions? Take a moment to pause, breathe, and consciously invite a new approach. When you dance, imagine yourself shedding the weight of those old ways. Feel your feet on the earth, connect with the sky above, and let yourself be inspired by the natural rhythms around you. Each step is an invitation to release, transform, and embrace a new way of moving through the world. With love, Sylvie Minot ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S 5RHYTHMS5Rhythms is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the dance itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression. The primary teaching of this work is: If you put your psyche in motion, it will heal itself. The five rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. They come together to create a wave. There are no dance steps to follow. Each rhythm has a different energy and tempo in which you tap into the wisdom of your body, bring awareness to the patterns in yourself and your life, and find your individual expression. In Sylvie Minot’s 5Rhythms classes, you are led on a journey of self-discovery as we come together in community. Classes are often made up of two waves. The first wave is your time to arrive, let go of your day and settle into your body. During the second wave, you dance more deeply and explore a specific theme. Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required.
