The full moon cycles fly by so quickly as another full moon now appears in the night sky as she enters Aries. One of Aries’ characteristics is the spiritual warrior. It is an opportunity to tap into your internal champion. Aries timing couldn't be more prefect as the assaults on civil rights pushes us to stand up in support as advocates for minorities. The world can no longer wait for another MLK or RBG. Society must continue the fight for humanity with people like you and me calling upon our inner-warrior to help. In her 1993 book, The Fourfold Way: Walking the Paths of the Warrior, Teacher, Healer, and Visionary, the late cultural anthropologist and amazing storyteller, Angeles Arrien, writes about the four leadership elements--one being the Way of the Warrior, whose guiding tenet is to show up and be present. The warrior knows how to use power to empower others, and communicates in clear and effective ways. If you can step into this place of inner power; you can inspire the warrior in others. You can help pick others up when the collective conscious can't bear yet one more crisis. You can speak up and express your fears, reveal your inner strength, and share your big dreams for this country and the world. During challenging times, I believe connection is the way through. Dancing in community brings everyone together in harmony with the rhythm of life. This week, let's invoke our inner warriors--through dance, conscious interactions, and being fully present during these times. When we dance we touch the essence of who we are and experience the unity between spirit and matter. ― Angeles Arrien With love, Sylvie and the SDP Team REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS NOW CLOSEDIf you choose the monthly recurring donation option of $75.00 or more, as a giving member, you can attend the weekly Wednesday night classes (online or in-person) for FREE. ABOUT SYLVIE MINOT'S 5RHYTHMS CLASS5Rhythms is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the dance itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression. The primary teaching of this work is: If you put your psyche in motion, it will heal itself. The five rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. They come together to create a wave. There are no dance steps to follow. Each rhythm has a different energy and tempo in which we tap into the wisdom of our bodies, bring awareness to the patterns in ourselves and our lives, and find our own individual expression. In Sylvie Minot’s weekly online 5Rhythms class, you will be led on a journey of self-discovery as we come together in community. The class is made up of two waves. The first wave is your time to arrive, let go of your day and settle into your body. During the second wave, we dance more deeply and explore a specific theme. Any level of fitness, agility and ages are invited to participate. All are welcome and no prior dance training or ability is required. About Sylvie Minot Sylvie Minot received her BA in Dance from San Jose State University and is a certified 5Rhythms® Teacher who was also trained in the Heartbeat (emotional) map by Gabrielle Roth.
