Whenever I travel, I am reminded of change.
There's the change you initiate and the change that is thrust upon you. It's how you embrace or reject change that colors your life experience.
It's your reaction that makes change an outward expression of yay or nay. It's a dance you are constantly being hailed to move through.
When the power of it pulls you off your center, you must learn to ground yourself, take some deep breaths, move your body, and open your heart to the unfamiliar.
And yes, I admit, there are changes I would happily dance around if offered a choice.
Embrace Change by Thomasena Martin-Johnson
Be Open and receiving
changes you, it is up to you
whether it is positive
Embrace the new
without fear of change
open wide with acceptance the challenge
New discoveries are wonder-filled.
At the end of the day
imagine how much you've changed
and with each new change
You become the butterfly.
Author and poet Thomasena Martin-Johnson grew up on Creek Indian land and attended college at the capital of the Cherokee Nation. Her philosophy is "there are only two answers, Yes or no. There is a 50/50 chance the answer is yes."
