![]() I have always been interested in the dream world and its fascinating images and metaphors. For me, dreams hold hidden messages from a mystical space. Ancient cultures believed that your dreams were direct messages from beyond or symbols in need of spiritual interpretation by a respected leader. The Mesopotamians were the earliest culture to write about dreams. They believed the Gods sent dreams to them as a way to communication between the two realms. We've been writing about dreams ever since. Thirty years ago, poet Robert Longley started writing poems for people looking for direction and hope in their lives. I want to share one of his sacred poems I recently discovered entitled, Let the Dream Continue. I invite you to read it aloud and feel a connection with your subconscious voice--the place where your dreams are communicated. Let the Dream Continue Let’s soar above the mountains And dance beneath the stars Live the life we’re made for Not just hanging out in cars We are made for greater things Not all will understand The chance to touch the future And to hold her in your hand Some things are left to dreams And wishes in your heart Yet knowing there’s something bigger That we are all apart So let the dream continue And kindle well the fire To push us on towards greatness That we all should aspire I intend to offer a daylong workshop that will bring dreams, shamanic journey, and movement together to explore the magic of these worlds. I want to provide a different way for you to think about your dreams as they relate to your body and to your daily life. Further details will follow in an upcoming blog post. With love, Sylvie Minot and the SDP Team
