The Lunar New Year falls on Saturday, February 10th, marking the beginning of the Year of the Wood Dragon. The Year of the Dragon brings auspicious energy as dragons are symbols of power, strength, and good fortune. The element wood represents growth, flexibility, and creativity. Lunar New Year symbolizes letting go of the past and ringing in the present. Celebrations are focused on removing what’s no longer needed and the old and welcoming the new and the things that would support us. As a wood dragon myself, I'm very excited to celebrate this new year and hold a Sweat Your Prayers this Saturday. We hope you can join us and dance our dragon dance. Both the Western zodiac and the Chinese zodiac have animals representing aspects of our character. Each animal has their own set of attributes. We shapeshift constantly and are not always aware of it. Shapeshifting doesn’t have just to take animal form. We shift from one part of ourselves to another quite regularly, often done automatically rather than consciously. In February's Shapeshifter workshop, we bring awareness to the shifts, connect with the natural world, and travel the imaginal world. With love, Sylvie and the SDP Team “I am an unquenchable fire, the center of all energy, the stout heroic heart.
